Thousands buy awful annuities from Friends Provident
Pension savers with Friends Provident are missing out on hundreds of pounds of retirement income... The insurance company's half yearly results, announced yesterday, show that six out of ten savers shopped around for a better annuity when they retired.
But the remaining four in ten - 9,000 savers in six months - bought an annuity with Friends Provident, even though it currently pays the worst rate of the major insurance companies....
