On Oct. 22, 2008, the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform held a hearing entitled: "Credit Rating Agencies and the Financial Crisis."
At the time, there was a lot of talk about restructuring the industry and possible ramifications for the triple-A ratings placed on subprime securities that later turned out to be junk (at best).
